Caleb Williams selected No. 1 by Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears have selected QB Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Impact

This was the expectation all offseason and it is now official. With the Bears trading Justin Fields, Williams is expected to step in as the Week 1 starter for Chicago. He'll have Keenan Allen, DJ Moore and Cole Kmet to throw to, as well as D'Andre Swift out of the backfield and a potential rookie receiver if they don't trade out of the No. 9 pick. With his offensive weapons and rushing ability, Williams should be fantasy relevant right away. The biggest question will be the offensive line he is playing behind.

Caleb Williams not throwing at NFL Combine

Caleb Williams, a former USC and Oklahoma quarterback and projected QB1 in the 2024 NFL Draft, is not expected to throw at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

Fantasy Impact

Williams will wait to throw and work out for teams at USC's Pro Day, which is not uncommon among prospects nowadays. The star QB is likely opting to put on a show for scouts at the Pro Day because it's a more controlled and predictable environment than the busy NFL Combine. He will still be in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine to meet with teams.

Caleb Williams will not play in USC's Holiday Bowl

USC QB Caleb Williams will not play in the Holiday Bowl against the Louisville Cardinals.

Fantasy Impact

Though it's anticipated that Williams will enter this year's NFL Draft, this all but confirms that the former Heisman QB has played his final game in college and will declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams is a consensus top-two QB and is a potential No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. He finished his college career with 10,082 passing yards and 120 total touchdowns in three seasons, including 3,633 yards and 41 total TDs in his junior year.
