Fantasy Impact: Jarry has appeared in two games this season posting a 1-1 record with nine goals allowed and a .866 SV%. Last year he went 19-25-5 but did post a very solid 2.91 GAA.

Evgeni Malkin scored a goal and had two assists during a 6-3 win versus Montreal. His third-period empty net goal was the 499th of his career. Aside from his three-point night he also finished with a plus-two rating in 18:20 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: It's been a good start to the season for Malkin posting seven points (one goal and six assists) in four games. Last year in 82 games he recorded 27 goals and 40 assists with a plus-five rating.

Fantasy Impact: Crosby is now under contract through the 2026-27 season with the Penguins, remaining with the franchise that drafted the superstar center. Casey DeSmith allowed three goals on 33 shots faced in the Penguins' 3-2 loss to the Stars Thursday night.

Fantasy Impact: DeSmith has been steady in the crease of late for the Penguins, allowing three goals or less in each of his last five starts (2-2-0, .904 save percentage) for the club. The backup netminder has given fantasy owners inconsistent results for much of the season, carrying a 3.11 GAA and .907 save percentage in 35 appearances (13-15-4) between the pipes so far this season.

Mikael Granlund tallied two points for the Penguins Saturday, scoring one goal and picking up one assist in a 5-1 win over the Flyers.

Fantasy Impact: Granlund has picked up points in six of his last 12 games for the Penguins, scoring four goals and adding six assists in that span. The 31-year-old will look to finish the season on a strong note for fantasy owners, notching 38 points (10 goals, 28 assists) in 62 games so far this season.

Jeff Petry notched one assist in the Penguins' 5-2 loss to the Devils Saturday.

Fantasy Impact: Petry has gotten points in six of his last 11 games for the Penguins, posting six assists in that span. The veteran blueliner has been a disappointment for fantasy owners for much of the season however, notching just 18 points (three goals, 15 assists) in 39 games so far this season.

Jason Zucker was able to light the lamp for the Penguins Friday night, scoring one goal in a 4-1 win over the Senators.

Fantasy Impact: Zucker has been productive of late for the Penguins, notching points in five of his last seven games (five goals, two assists) for the club. The 31-year-old is one of many Pittsburgh forwards who have fought through consistency issues on the ice for head coach Mike Sullivan, scoring 13 goals and picking up 17 assists for 30 points in 41 games so far this season.

Dustin Tokarski faced 40 shots for the Penguins Friday night, allowing four goals in a 4-1 loss to the Jets.

Fantasy Impact: Tokarski has finished with a save percentage of at least .900 in each of his two starts (1-1-0) in the crease this season for the Penguins. The33-year-old netminder is only a temporary option while Tristan Jarry is sidelined for the Penguins and should return to irrelevance once Jarry returns.

Jeff Carter was able to find the back of the net for the Penguins Sunday night, scoring one goal in a 4-1 win over the Coyotes.

Fantasy Impact: Carter has gotten hot of late for the Penguins, picking up points in four of his last five games (three goals, two assists) for the club. The veteran forward still flashes a sneaky nose for the net, but has failed to do so on a consistent basis, scoring seven goals and adding 12 assists for 19 points in 36 games so far this season.

Kasperi Kapanen recorded a hat-trick in the Penguins' 6-2 win over the Blues Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact: Kapanen has somehow found out where the offensive zone is, picking up five points (four goals, one assist) in his last two games after being held without a point in his previous nine. The 26-year-old has always flashed the ability to finish but has yet to do so on a consistent basis early in his career. Kapanen has posted just 10 points (five goals, five assists) in 16 games so far this season.

Josh Archibald posted two points for the Penguins Friday, scoring one goal and adding one assist in a 4-1 win over the Flyers.

Fantasy Impact: Archibald has picked points in just four of his last 11 games for the Penguins, posting a 0.45 point per game (three goals, two assists) in that span as more of a defensive specialist as part of head coach Mike Sullivan's forward group. The 30-year-old can be left off rosters for the time being, posting just six points (four goals, two assists) in 20 games so far this season.
