Free-agent winger Tomas Tatar has agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Colorado Avalanche.
Fantasy Impact
Tatar will give the Avalanche another inexpensive scoring option as part of a forward group that will be missing captain Gabriel Landeskog (knee) for the second consecutive season. The veteran winger is coming off of a solid 20-goal, 48-point 2022-23 season that saw Tatar lace up his skates for all 82 games with the New Jersey Devils.
Tatar got the Devils only regulation goal, assisted by Jesper Boqvist, and added a shootout goal in this matchup of goalies. The team went on to win 2-1.
Fantasy Impact
It was the left-wingers 11th goal of the year, moving him to 24 points on the season. Tatar added one hit in his 15:37 of ice time.
Tomas Tatar tallied his 10th assist of the year in a 4-2 loss to the Penguins.
Fantasy Impact
Tatar’s assist moves him to 19 points in 46 games this season. He is just not providing enough on offense to be considered fantasy relevant.
Tomas Tatar found the net at the very end of third period to round out the scoring for New Jersey during their 7-1 rout of Montreal.
Fantasy Impact
Tatar returned from the All-Star break in style, tacking on a goal, hit, and blocked shot to his season totals. The goal was his ninth on the year. The 30-year-old has nowhere to go but up for the remainder of the season, but his fantasy value remains minimal at best.
Tomas Tatar provided the primary assist on Phillip Danault's first period goal during Montreal's 4-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Tatar has 16 goals and 38 points through 45 games played this year.
