The Flyers have placed defenseman Ryan Ellis on IR with a lingering lower-body injury.

There's no clear timetable for Ellis to return. It will be a little while though as head coach Alain Vigneault called him "week-to-week." It's a tough setback for Ellis, who projects to be a productive defenseman for his new team once he's able to get back on the ice. Stash him on IR if you can, or he's droppable if that's not an option for you.

Ellis filled the stat sheet all the way around in this one. He remains second on the team in points and is a very solid start in Fantasy. Interesting fact: Nashville is the only team in the NHL with two defensemen in the team's top three scorers.

Ellis is now second on the team with 23 points (five goals and 18 assists). The leading point getter is Roman Josi, who is Ellis' D partner. Ellis is one of a few solid fantasy starters on the Predators.

Ellis helped Kyle Turris on the power play, tying the game at 2-2 in the third period, with the Preds losing to the Lightning in overtime.
