Availability
Mason McTavish notched one assist in the Ducks' 5-1 loss to the Senators Wednesday night.
Fantasy Impact
McTavish has cooled off in the offensive zone of late, posting points in just two of his last seven games (two assists) for the Ducks. The 21-year-old has been one of many dismal options as part of a disappointing Anaheim lineup to this point, registering just 11 points (two goals, nine assists) to go along with 12 blocked shots, 14 penalty minutes, and 20 hits in 22 games so far this season.
Mason McTavish scored on the powerplay for his 18th goal of the season in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks.
Fantasy Impact
McTavish snapped a stretch of 14 games without a goal and just two assists. The inconsistency is what killed his value this year, as when he was hot he looked like the dynasty stud he has been touted as, but when he was cold he was unrosterable. Adding some muscle and some improvements to the Anaheim roster next year could lead to a breakout season, so keep tabs on him leading up to next year's draft.
Mason McTavish added four shots and added his 26th assist of the season in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Blues.
Fantasy Impact
The Rookie has 42 points on the year, and he may be a finalist for the Calder award. His best value is in a dynasty or keeper format, but he has shown flashes of dominance throughout the season. He does not need to be rostered right now though, as with the season coming to a close, it is best to chase the hot hand in your league.
Mason McTavish stuffed the stat sheet on Sunday, adding a hit, a blocked shot, three shots on net, and two goals in the 5-4 overtime loss to Nashville.
Fantasy Impact
McTavish continues to be a solid source of offence in the second half of the season. He has bounced around with different linemates over the past few weeks, but the good thing is that he has been able to contribute points regardless of who he is skating with. The rookie deserves a look in deeper leagues, and riding his hot hand may help your team down the stretch. On the year, he is up to 16 goals and 24 assists in 66 games.
Mason McTavish added his 24th assist of the season in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Canucks.
Fantasy Impact
McTavish has a goal and five assists in his last five games, and is making a serious case to be a waiver wire pickup for the home stretch. McTavish offers upside you likely will not find elsewhere this late in the season, so if you are in need of a spark, he is not a bad choice. He and Troy Terry have built a rapport since being put together on the same line, and McTavish has what it takes to be a difference maker in all formats.
