Cody Ceci nets first goal with Maple Leafs

Cody Ceci took little time in endearing himself to his new teammates, as he posted his first goal in the blue and white in his second game with the team. The goal stood up as the game-winner over Columbus, and he added two shots, one hit and skated to a +1 rating across 24:44 of ice-time in the game.

Fantasy Impact

Ceci posted just seven goals and a career-high 26 points last season in Ottawa, so the 25-year-old isn't necessarily known for his offence. However, since arriving in Toronto, he's been thrust into a top pairing role alongside Morgan Rielly, who assisted on his goal on Friday. Ceci may have the opportunity to push towards the 30-point threshold for the first time is his career simply because of his improved fantasy situation, but he shouldn't be on the radar outside of very deep leagues that record hits and blocks.

Cody Ceci signs one-year extension with Maple Leafs

Cody Ceci has agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million dollar extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Fantasy Impact

The 25-year-old was originally acquired from the Ottawa Senators in a six player trade. While nothing is set in stone regarding how head coach Mike Babcock will deploy the right-handed shot defenseman, it appears he will likely find himself on the second pairing alongside Jake Muzzin. Ceci tied his career high with 26 points last season, so he's not a viable fantasy option outside of leagues that count blocks and hits. That being said, there's no denying he's in a better offensive situation than he was in Ottawa.

Cody Ceci scores goal in Senators win

Cody Ceci scored his 4th goal of the season in the second period of the Senators 6-4 win over the Penguins on Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact

SLEEPER ALERT: Cody Ceci has scored a goal in his last 2 games. Cody Ceci now has 4 goals and 3 assists in 16 games this season. Ceci is a former first round pick who is known for his offensive acumen so these signs of life are promising for the future. That being said, if Ceci can't get on to a power play unit his scoring chances are somewhat limited. Monitor Ceci's play and if he gets power play time grab him.

Cody Ceci scores goal in Senators win

Cody Ceci scored his third goal of the season in the first period of the Senators 2-1 win over the Red Wings on Thursday night.

Fantasy Impact

Cody Ceci brought his season totals up to 3 goals and 3 assists through 15 games with Thursday night’s goal. Ceci will not carry much fantasy relevancy unless he can garner some power play time. With Maxime Lajoie and Chris Wideman being unproductive of late there may be an opportunity for Ceci down the road. Monitor Ceci for now and if he gets power play time he could be a sneaky deep league add.

Cody Ceci adds assist in Senators victory

Cody Ceci got his 3rd assist of the season on Bobby Ryan’s first period goal in the Senators 6-4 win over Tampa on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Cody Ceci got his 3rd assist to go with 2 goals on the season in the Senators win on Saturday. Ceci doesn’t hold much value as he isn’t on either power play unit and until then he is best to ignore for fantasy purposes.
