Alex Kerfoot found the back of the net on two shots in Friday’s 3-2 overtime loss to Columbus.
Fantasy Impact
With Logan Cooley (lower body) ruled out indefinitely, Kerfoot was promoted to the top line alongside Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz. He capitalized on the opportunity by snapping an 11-game point drought with his seventh goal of the season. While Kerfoot’s versatility has kept him in a bottom-six role for most of the season, this move could give him short-term fantasy value. Through 51 appearances, he has 16 points, 63 shots, 40 blocked shots, 26 hits, and a minus-6 rating. Managers in deeper formats may want to monitor his production in an expanded role.
Alexander Kerfoot scored one goal in the Maple Leafs' 4-0 win over the Stars Tuesday night.
Fantasy Impact
Kerfoot has posted points in four of his last seven games for the Maple Leafs, scoring one goal and adding four assists in that span. The gritty forward has the ability to find the back of the net and make impact plays in the offensive zone, but has yet to do so on a consistent basis early in the season, posting just 11 points (two goals, nine assists) to go along with a +5 plus/minus in 27 games so far this season.
Alexander Kerfoot was able to light the lamp for the Maple Leafs Thursday, scoring one goal in a 3-2 win over the Stars.
Fantasy Impact
Kerfoot has gotten off to a slow start for the Maple Leafs, picking up just two points in the first five games of the season. The 28-year-old is a solid two-way forward that contributes on both ends of the ice and does many of the things fantasy owners will not see on the stat sheet on a nightly basis. Kerfoot is best left on waivers currently.
Alexander Kerfoot provided a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs as they downed the visiting Edmonton Oilers 4-2. He finished the game with two points, a plus-2 rating, and one shot.
Fantasy Impact
It may have been one of the most unspectacular empty net goals as the shot, the defense, and even the puck rolling in didn't look that interested but they all count. Chalk him up for five goals and 21 points this year.
Alexander Kerfoot provided helpers on goals scored by William Nylander, Joe Thornton, and Alex Galchenyuk as the Maple Leafs shutout the Canadiens 4-0 Tuesday in Game 4.
Fantasy Impact
Kerfoot has one goal and five points through four games played this post-season.
