Ivan Provorov steps up with goal and assist in loss

by Bruno Mulé | Blue Jackets Correspondent | Wed, Feb 5th 11:29am EST

Ivan Provorov delivered a strong performance in Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to Buffalo, registering a goal and an assist while filling in as Columbus’ top defenseman with Zach Werenski (undisclosed) sidelined. This was Provorov’s first multi-point effort since Jan. 4, and he continues to be a steady presence on the blue line.

Fantasy Impact:

Provorov has maintained solid value in deeper leagues, contributing five goals and 24 points across 54 games while adding 83 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating. His expanded role with Werenski out boosts his short-term appeal, and with Columbus still fighting for a playoff spot, he remains a key piece of the defense. However, he could be on the move at the trade deadline if the Blue Jackets falter.
