Slated in as Elvis Merzlikins' backup, it's Tarasov that starts the team's season opener with Merzliklins unavailable with an illness. The 23-year-old has just four games of NHL experience but held his own with a 2.40 GAA and .937 Sv% in that time last season despite going winless in the process.
