Corey Crawford takes indefinite leave of absence from Devils

by Robert Klein | Blackhawks Correspondent | Fri, Jan 8th 7:29pm EST

Crawford took a leave of absence from the New Jersey Devils citing personal reasons. He signed a two-year deal in October after spending 13-seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks helping them win two Stanley Cup championships (2013-2015). (NHL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The Devils are in a stacked East Division this season in the one season realignment. New Jersey will go with Mackenzie Blackwood and newly signed Scott Wedgewood as the goaltending tandem for the foreseeable future. Crawford was a risky fantasy pick in 2021 anyway since he's missed several games the last two seasons with concussion issues. Last season with Chicago he went 16-20-3 with a 2.77 GAA and .913 save percentage in 40 games played.
