Kyren Williams Week 2 Outlook - Rams at Cardinals

By Mick Ciallela (Fantrax), Wed, Sep 11th 2024, 4:40pm EDT

Reports of the demise of Kyren Williams' fantasy value due to his status as the Los Angeles Rams' punt returner may have been a bit premature. Williams carried the ball 18 times, including a two-yard rushing score in Week 1's overtime loss in Detroit. He also caught three passes out of the backfield. Williams was not very efficient, but a matchup against the Detroit Lions is about as difficult as there is in the NFL. He should have easier sledding in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals allowed the most rushing yards to opposing backs in the NFL last year, as well as 22 total touchdowns to the position. James Cook had 103 total yards versus Arizona last week. That should be the baseline for what to expect from Williams in Week 2. With Puka Nacua on Injured Reserve, the Rams will continue to feature Kyren Williams in this matchup. He could very easily finish the week as the top-scoring back in fantasy football.
