Week 17 Outlook
Availability
The Las Vegas Raiders are signing TE Zach Gentry from the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad to their starting roster.
Fantasy Impact
Gentry, a fifth-year pro out of Michigan, is set to make his first appearance in 2023 and first NFL appearance with a team other than the Pittsburgh Steelers. With the Steelers, he started 25 games in the last two seasons and had 39 catches for 303 yards in four years. He'll serve as a depth option behind Michael Mayer and Austin Hooper to replace Jesper Horsted (IR).
Zach Gentry is signing with the Bengals' practice squad.
Fantasy Impact
Gentry got cut from the Steelers' active roster ahead of their roster cutdown deadline, but he has now found a new home on Cincinnati's practice squad. He will have a chance to compete for a spot on the active roster throughout the season, especially with the Bengals having a thin depth chart at the tight end position.
Zach Gentry caught his lone target for a four-yard gain in a 20-18 win over Tampa Bay in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact
Gentry ascended to the starting role with Pat Freiermuth (concussion) ruled out for the contest. Freiermuth will probably be back in time for a Week 7 matchup against Miami, sending Gentry back to a reserve role and waiver wires in fantasy leagues.
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Zach Gentry caught 4-of-4 targets for 33 yards in a 42-21 Wild Card loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Gentry finished third on the Steelers in receiving in the playoff loss. The veteran actually carved out a decent role over the final portion of the season, catching 13 passes over the last four games. He will be back in Pittsburgh in 2022 to backup Pat Freiermuth.
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Zach Gentry caught 4-of-4 targets for 31 yards in a 36-10 loss to the Chiefs in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact
Gentry filled in for starter Pat Freiermuth, who is dealing with a concussion. He will not be a recommended streaming option against the Browns in Week 17, even if Freiermuth is not cleared to return.
