Week 12 Outlook
Availability
The Steelers have released linebacker Vince Williams. By cutting the 31-year-old, Pittsburgh creates $4 million in cap space.
Fantasy Impact
Williams is a longtime Steeler who has spent all eight of his pro seasons in Pittsburgh. Over 121 career games, he has 479 tackles, 20.5 sacks, five fumbles forced, and six fumbles recovered. He also has two career interceptions, including one pick-six. His 14 starts in 2020 represent the second-highest single-season total of his career and serve as indication that Williams is still capable of being a starter. He should command significant interest in the open market.
Steelers linebacker Vince Williams recorded four tackles (three solo), one TFL, one sack, one pass defensed, and a first quarter pick-six in Thursday night’s 52-21 win over the Panthers.
Fantasy Impact
It was a dominant performance by Williams who now has a sack in back-to-back weeks. The interception came on Carolina’s second possession when quarterback Cam Newton, chased by linebacker T.J. Watt, retreated into his own end zone before chucking up a desperation ball that landed in the arms of Williams. He proceeded to return it 17 yards for the score.
Steelers linebacker Vince Williams recorded four tackles (three solo) and 0.5 sack in Sunday’s 23-16 win over the Ravens.
Fantasy Impact
Williams now has 1.5 sacks in six games after sporting a career-high eight in 2017. He’s not a reliable IDP option at this time.
Steelers linebacker Vince Williams had a big game against the Chiefs in Week 6. The 27-year-old notched five solo tackles and two sacks as the Steelers beat the Chiefs 19-13.
Fantasy Impact
Williams now has 32 tackles and four sacks on the season. He has already eclipsed his career high in sacks, which was two back in 2016.
