Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Vince Biegel tore his right Achilles tendon in practice Thursday.

Biegel “just leaned the wrong way” in a two-on-two drill, coach John Harbaugh said. Unfortunately, this is Biegel’s second torn Achilles in three years, as he suffered the same injury during the 2020 training camp as a member of the Miami Dolphins. It was a devastating event for the veteran who was competing for a spot on the Ravens roster. Biegel, 29, will have a long road ahead of him in his recovery. In the wake of the injury, the Ravens could potentially look to add more outside linebacker depth through trade or free agency.

Biegel is expected to miss the 2020 season and most likely be placed on the injured reserve. He racked up 59 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception 2019. Biegel will rehab and look to fully recover from his torn ACL in order to be ready for the 2021 campaign.
