Tyler Ervin
RB -
Week 16 Outlook
Availability
The Packers are expected to place RB Tyler Ervin (foot) on injured reserve.
Fantasy Impact
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that Ervin is expected to miss at least a month. Jamaal Williams will continue mixing in alongside Aaron Jones, and they're the only two Green Bay RBs worth rostering in fantasy leagues.
Packers' RB Tyler Ervin (ribs) logged a 'DNP' status at Friday's practice, per source.
Fantasy Impact
Ervin suffered a rib injury against the Jaguars in Week 10 and missed the entire week of practice as a result. The fifth-year running back has been limited in his role behind star RB Aaron Jones and RB Jamaal Williams, rushing for 67 yards and hauling in 11 receptions for 84 yards in seven games this season.
Tyler Ervin rushed eight times for 24 yards and caught four of five targets for 48 yards in the Packers’ 34-17 victory over the 49ers on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
With Jamaal Williams and AJ Dillon on the shelf due to COVID-19, Ervin saw increased run behind Aaron Jones in this one and had a solid day, producing 72 yards on 12 touches. This may be the high water mark for Ervin's workload this season, as he's sure to see his touches dwindle as the rest of the backfield gets healthy.
Per sources, Packers RB Tyler Ervin is expected to receive the “bulk of the carries” on Thursday night against the 49ers.
Fantasy Impact
Ervin’s nickname is “Swerve” and fantasy managers that picked him up this week in desperation are hoping he can swerve for 100+ yards against the 49ers stout run defense. While that’s highly unlikely, it’s helpful to hear he’ll get the majority of the carries. Proceed accordingly, but this sounds like a downgrade to Dexter Williams. Ervin should be considered a flex play tonight. It sounds like Aaron Jones is on the wrong side of the questionable tag with this news.
Tyler Ervin caught one of two targets for eight yards in the Packers’ 30-16 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Ervin typically sees a couple of touches a week as a runner/receiver, though he’s a distant third on the depth chart behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. Ervin will need an injury to one or both of those backs to earn any sort of fantasy value moving forward.
