Fantasy Impact
Chandler was unable to find much success against a stout Detroit rushing defense, averaging a meager 2.1 yards per carry in a losing effort. The versatile running back will look to bounce back in a Week 17 divisional contest against the Green Bay Packers.
Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell said Ty Chandler is expected to maintain a feature role.
Fantasy Impact
Chandler "is absolutely a guy that is going to see a featured, featured role in our offense" according to O'Connell. Alexander Mattison is expected to try to work his way back to practice this week, but Chandler has earned the right to maintain a big role according to O'Connell. He will be an RB2 play, especially if Mattison remains sidelined.
Ty Chandler ran for 132 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in the Vikings' 27-24 overtime loss against the Bengals. He also caught 3-of-4 targets for an additional 25 yards through the air.
Fantasy Impact
With Alexander Mattison sidelined, Chandler took over the workhorse role as he saw all but one running back carry in the game. He caught a 16-yard pass to the one-yard line before scoring at the goal line for the first touchdown of the game. He would remain a strong RB2 play in Week 16 if Mattison remains sidelined.
