Troymaine Pope
RB -
Week 16 Outlook
Availability
Former Los Angeles Chargers RB Troymaine Pope has signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per Greg Auman.
Fantasy Impact
The 27-year old running back joins his fourth team after quiet usage during his two-year stint in L.A. Pope will provide depth in an already crowded running back room after impressing the Bucs' coaching staff during rookie minicamp. This signing doesn't do much for fantasy purposes but Pope could see some situational usage based on his 73.3 Ctch% out of the backfield throughout his four-year career.
Troymaine Pope will play in Sunday's game against the Patriots
Fantasy Impact
With Austin Ekeler back in the lineup and Joshua Kelley and Kalen Ballage back in the lineup, Pope shouldn't have been on your fantasy radar this week anyway.
Chargers RB Troymaine Pope rushed three times for four yards and added two catches for 12 receiving yards in the Chargers' Week 11 win over the Jets.
Fantasy Impact
Pope's longest rush of the day went for five yards, but he played better than fellow backup Joshua Kelley. As long as Austin Ekeler is on the shelf, it looks like Pope will be a small part of the run game - though he is not worth rostering in redraft formats against the Bills in Week 12.
Chargers RB Troymaine Pope did not register a snap on offense in the Chargers' Week 10 loss to the Dolphins.
Fantasy Impact
Pope was active but did not play a down for the Chargers' offense in Week 10. He missed Week 9 with a neck injury, and though active, he was likely insurance for Kalen Ballage or Joshua Kelley if they went down with an injury. Pope was a popular waiver add last week but can be safely dropped ahead of Week 11's game against the Jets.
Chargers RB Troymaine Pope (neck) is officially active for Week 10 against the Dolphins.
Fantasy Impact
Pope was a full participant in practice all week, so this comes as no surprise. Daniel Popper expects Pope to play an active role on offense in Week 10 after a very solid performance the last time he played in Week 8. Pope makes for a intriguing flex option with some upside against the Dolphins.
