Week 17 Outlook
Availability
Broncos WR Troy Fumagalli caught 4-of-5 targets for 53 yards in the Broncos' 32-27 win over the Panthers in Week 14.
Fantasy Impact
Fumagalli, a second-year player out of Wisconsin, set a new career-high with 53 receiving yards. He came into Week 14 having only two receptions for 12 yards, so fantasy managers should not expect this to be a recurring theme.
Denver Post's Ryan O'Halloran reports that fifth-round draft pick Troy Fumagalli is not participating in OTAs due to sports hernia surgery he had earlier in the offseason.
Fantasy Impact
It's not as if Fumagalli had a great shot to start as a rookie, but the Broncos don't have the tight end position locked down by anyone, so it wasn't exactly out of question. But not getting on the field with your teammates is a guarantee to be at the bottom of the depth chart. As of now, the competition for the job is likely down to Jeff Heuerman and Jake Butt, though we'd expect Heuerman to win the job with Butt himself coming off a torn ACL.
