The Bills have ruled out defensive end Trent Murphy (knee) for Sunday’s game against the Bears.

Murphy will miss his second straight game after sitting out Week 8 as well. Shaq Lawson will again slide into the starting lineup in his absence.

Murphy missed a few snaps against the Texans after rolling his ankle in the loss. The injury is minor, though, and shouldn’t be considered a threat to hold him out of Week 7. Murphy has three sacks in his first six games as a Bill.
According to ESPN reporter John Keim, the Redskins see Trent Murphy as the OLB starter opposite Ryan Kerrigan for the beginning of 2015.

Murphy has been working with he first team defense so far. The team is likely impressed by his high work ethic, but Preston Smith will still be on the field most of the time too since the Skins play nickel coverage the vast majority of the time.
Redskins' rookie linebacker Trent Murphy broke his right hand during the Week 17 win against Philadelphia. The exact injury is a fracture of the third metacarpal in that hand. Coach Jay Gruden said on Sunday afternoon that Murphy would be "a long shot" to suit up in Week 17.
