Availability
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, OL Trai Turner will miss the 2023 season after tearing his quadriceps in training camp Friday.
Fantasy Impact
Turner, a former five-time Pro Bowl guard in Carolina, was entering his first season with the Saints. Turner has started 118 games in his nine-season career, playing for the Panthers, Chargers, Steelers and Commanders. Free agent Trai Turner is visiting with Saints Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Turner has bounced around between the Chargers, Steelers, and Commanders over the last three seasons. The Saints could look to the 30-year-old veteran to fill a need as a backup guard heading into the 2023 season.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, former Steelers OL Trai Turner is signing a one-year, $3 million deal with the Washington Commanders.
Fantasy Impact
The former Pittsburgh offensive lineman inked a one-year deal to join the Commanders on Monday. the veteran was ranked 86th in PFFs rankings amongst offensive linemen in 2021. During his 2021 campaign, he allowed eight sacks and 13 QB hurries. He's a major upgrade for an offensive line that lost Brandon Scherff in free agency this offseason.
Former Los Angeles Chargers RG Trai Turner has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact
The Steelers cut RG David DeCastro earlier Thursday and have already found his replacement in five-time Pro-Bowl RG Trai Turner. Turner spent most of his career with the Panthers but was traded to the Chargers for Russell Okung prior to last season. His presence should improve a woefully bad Steelers offensive line from 2020, which could cause Steelers rookie RB Najee Harris' ADP to rise even higher than his current expert consensus ranking of RB14 in half-PPR formats.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Chargers have released OL Trai Turner after finding nobody to trade for the veteran lineman.
Fantasy Impact
After a month of trying to shop the lineman, the Chargers decided to release the veteran OL. The move comes at a bit of a surprise as the Chargers traded for him from the Panthers just last season. The move saves the team $11.5 million against the cap for 2021.
