Tahj Washington
WR - Miami Dolphins - IR
Availability
The Miami Dolphins have placed WR Tahj Washington on the reserve/injured list (IR), which could possibly lead him to miss the entire 2024 season.
Fantasy Impact
Washington missing his rookie campaign may not necessarily mean his injury is severe enough to be a season-ender. Teams have a limit on how many players they are allowed to activate off of IR, and teams tend to reserve those slots for veterans. It is not fairly uncommon for a late-round rookie to deal with an injury over the offseason and receive what is essentially a medical redshirt, allowing the team to keep the player and avoid having to risk waiving them while not having to dedicate a 53-man roster spot. Washington's first NFL action may not come until 2025.
The Miami Dolphins have moved WR Tahj Washington (undisclosed) to the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list ahead of the start of the team's training camp.
Fantasy Impact
Washington was drafted out of USC in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The nature of the injury holding him out was not made clear. If he does not come off the PUP list before the start of the regular season, Washington will be required to miss the first four games of the season. The rookie wideout was considered a fringe 53-man roster player given Miami's newfound WR depth, and this injury could potentially lead him to start his career on Miami's practice squad.
The Miami Dolphins have selected WR Tahj Washington with the No. 241 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact
Washington led the USC Trojans with 1,062 receiving yards on 59 receptions 2023. The Dolphins have a talented group of wide receivers and Washington will have to attempt to carve out a role to stay on the roster.
