Storm Johnson fighting for roster spot

Storm Johnson will have a final chance to impress the Dolphins brass and make the roster. He spent time last year on the practice squad.

Fantasy Impact

With his competition, Senorise Perry sidelined with an injury Johnson has a chance to show he deserves a roster spot.

Storm Johnson with 39 total yards out of Tampa Bay backfield Thursday

Storm Johnson carried the ball four times for eight yards and caught both of his targets for 31 yards, including a 20 yard scamper in the Buccaneers 17-9 loss to the Eagles in their preseason opener.

Fantasy Impact

Storm Johnson got an extended look on Thursday with Charles Sims sidelined. Johnson is not a lock to make the roster but the former seventh round pick out of UCF may be able to compete for a backup running back role if he is able to step up during these exhibition games. Johnson did not play a single down in 2015 after being drafted by the Jaguars in 2014.

Storm Johnson gets touchdown in first start

Storm Johnson got his first start on Sunday and finished the day with 10 carries for 21 yards. His touchdown came from one yard out on the Jaguars' opening drive.

Fantasy Impact

The Jaguars run offense has been terrible this season ranking 31st at 67 yards a game. Johnson didn't find much room against Tennessee even though they had struggled against the run, ranking 26th. If he's available in your league, he's definitely worth a waiver flier, but until Jacksonville's offensive line improves, it may be a long season for Storm Johnson or any Jacksonville running back.
