Week 17 Outlook
Availability
Former Cincinnati Bengals kicker Shayne Graham announced his retirement Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Graham, the most accurate kicker in Bengals history, retired Monday after playing 15 seasons in the NFL. He did not play in 2016 after being released by the Falcons prior to the start of the season.
Falcons' kicker Shayne Graham was 1/2 on field goal attempts and made both of his extra point attempts in the Falcons' Week 17 loss to the Saints. Graham opened the game with its first points with his 51-yard field goal in the first quarter, but was unable to hit his other field goal attempt.
Fantasy Impact
Shayne Graham played very in relief of injured kicker Matt Bryant this season. Graham will finish the year missing just two of his 13 field goal attempts for Atlanta. Despite his success, don't expect the veteran to win the kicking duties next season for the Falcons who may look to seek younger help.
Shayne Graham hit 2-of-3 of his FG tries and made both of his extra point tries in the Falcons' Week 16 upset win over the Panthers.
Fantasy Impact
Graham made two FGs in the fourth quarter as the Falcons were trying to kill the clock and build their slim lead over the Panthers. He hit from 37 and a huge 54-yarder with 1:30 left which forced the Panthers to try and score a TD to tie. Graham has filled in admirably for the injured Matt Bryant. For those playing in Week 17, Graham is a sneaky play against the Saints.
Shayne Graham continued his perfect season as he connected on all of his three field goal attempts and two extra points in the Falcons' win over the Jaguars. Graham is now 8 for 8 on the season after connecting from 34, 33, and 46 yards on the day.
Fantasy Impact
The Falcons signed Graham after Matt Bryant went down and has been a rather pleasant surprise for the Falcons. Graham scored 12 fantasy points in standard formats this week, which was good enough for the fourth most in the league. The Falcons take on Carolina next week, so the sputtering Falcons' offense could be doing a lot of settling for field goals against the stingy Panthers' defense.
Shayne Graham posted a big stat line this Sunday against the Bucs. He put up four field goals (28,47,52,29) as well as going 1-for-1 on his extra point attempt.
Fantasy Impact
In standard fantasy leagues Graham posted 15+ points and benefitted from the Falcons not being able to get into the end zone. This is the second week in a row where Graham was the Falcons kicker for the injured Matt Bryant. He shouldn't be considered a fantasy option because he most likely will lose his job once Bryant is ready to come back.
