Week 17 Outlook

Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Robert Mathis announced his retirement from the NFL Friday.
Fantasy Impact
After 14 seasons in the league, Mathis will play his final game in the NFL Sunday against Jacksonville. He played his entire career with the Colts and won a Super Bowl with the club in 2007.
Robert Mathis has been removed from the Colts' PUP list following his Achilles tear in 2014.
Fantasy Impact
The last we saw Mathis take the field in 2013, he managed 19.5 sacks which led the league that year. He was suspended for the first four games of 2014 and suffered the injury prior to his return to the field. As an IDP candidate, it may be prudent to see how he fares in game action before committing a draft pick to him.
According to multiple sources, reports indicate that suspended LB Robert Mathis has torn his Achilles tendon working out in Atlanta. No additional details on how the injury was sustained or the Colts plans for Mathis are currently available.
Fantasy Impact
This is horrible news for a Colts defense that struggled to apply pressure to Peyton Manning in the season opener. With Mathis out the entire season, the Colts will rely on improved second year player Bjorn Werner to generate an outside pass rush.
Ian Rappaport on Twitter reports that Colts linebacker Robert Mathis tore his Achilles during work-outs and will miss the 2014 season.
Fantasy Impact
This is a huge blow for the Colts' pass rush which already had problems generating pressure on Peyton Manning in Sunday night's loss. Mathis lead the league with 19.5 sacks in 2013.
