With Ayers status and the health of the Tampa Bay defensive line as a whole, the Carolina run game receives a boost. For IDP purposed William Gholston may be the only viable play.

Robert Ayers had the sack and added one tackle in the loss versus Atlanta on Monday night in Week 15. He also left the contest with a stinger and missed some time throughout the contest with the injury. It was William Gholston who lead the Tampa Bay defensive linemen in tackles with four and added a blocked field goal attempt for good measure.

The Tampa Bay defensive unit as a whole is banged up and Ayers now may not be counted on by his IDP owners for Week 16, or at least at full health. If this is the case and Gerald McCoy (biceps) and Clinton McDonald (back) who just came back after a two-week absence, aren't all ready to go Golston may find himself leading the defensive linemen in snap counts in Week 16.

Robert Ayers remains in the NFL's concussion protocol but did practice on Friday, on a limited basis.

Ayers owners in IDP leagues will want to seek a replacement for this Sunday's game versus Green Bay.
