Peyton Barber
RB -
Week 11 Outlook
Availability
Raiders running back Peyton Barber is a healthy scratch in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact
Barber, who missed last week with a toe injury, is now inactive as a coach's decision. His third-string job in the Las Vegas offense will go to fellow veteran Jalen Richard.
Raiders running back Peyton Barber (toe) is officially inactive against the Bears on Sunday afternoon. He entered this weekend listed as questionable.
Fantasy Impact
Barber has appeared in three games this season, racking up 174 scrimmage yards and a touchdown while also fumbling once. If Josh Jacobs were to go down again, Barber would have solid fantasy relevance. However, as of now, he’s simply Las Vegas’ third-string back — and he’s not even suiting up this week. Fellow veteran Jalen Richard, who was activated from IR on Saturday, will take Barber’s place.
Las Vegas Raiders running back Peyton Barber is dealing with a mild case of turf toe and is expected to be sidelined for what 'sounds like a few weeks'.
Fantasy Impact
Barber had been operating ahead of Kenyan Drake in Josh Jacobs' absence but was injured early in Week 4. He will now be sidelined for at least a few weeks and may fall back behind Drake in the interim. He is a hold if you play in a league with larger rosters but is a luxury for those in leagues with smaller benches. Barber's absence raises the weekly floors of both Jacobs and Drake.
Peyton Barber had 23 carries on Sunday, totalling 111 yards on the ground and a score. He also saw an uptick in the passing game, catching three of his five targets for 31 yards.
Fantasy Impact
Barber had a prime matchup against the Dolphins in Week 3 and took advantage of it. He took off for some long runs and really helped the Raiders offense get on track in the first half after a pick-six in the first quarter. As mentioned above, Barber also saw some passing work in this one, something he wasn't involved with at all in Week 2. With his teammate Kenyan Drake in the dog house for missing a pass block assignment, Barber may continue to have a role in the offense in Week 4. Fantasy managers will obviously have to continue monitoring the health of starting running back Josh Jacobs, but if Jacobs isn't good to go, Barber looks primed for another good game in a great matchup against the porous Chargers run defense.
Peyton Barber saw 13 carries on Sunday, totalling 32 yards. He was not targeted in the passing game.
Fantasy Impact
As stated prior to the game by several sources, Barber got the bulk of the carries in this one. Unfortunately, he didn't do much with those carries and if Josh Jacobs returns from injury next week Barber can be dropped to waivers again. He simply lacks explosiveness out of the backfield with his longest carry being only 13 yards and also lacks the passing game usage to help his floor. If Jacobs doesn't return, Barber remains a risky RB3 option against a Miami defense that has been less than advertised thus far in 2021.
