Osa Odighizuwa receives four-year contract with Dallas

Defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa and the Dallas Cowboys have reached terms on a four-year, $80 million deal for him to remain in Dallas.

Fantasy Impact

Odighizuwa has emerged as a presence in the middle of the Cowboys' defense, recording career-high numbers of 4.5 sacks, 47 tackles, and 23 QB hits. While he has not been the most consistent run defender, the 26-year-old defensive tackle has shown plenty of promise in the passing game (70.0+ pass-rushing grade). This helps avoid him playing on the franchise tag in 2025.

Osa Odighizuwa expected to receive franchise tag

The Cowboys plan to utilize the franchise tag on DT Osa Odighizuwa.

Fantasy Impact

That is unless the two sides can reach an agreement on a long-term deal before Tuesday. The franchise tag is projected at $25.1 million. It would likely be better for Dallas cap wise if the two sides can reach an agreement on a long-term contract.

Osa Odighizuwa, Cowboys working on deal

The Cowboys are “working on a deal with DT Osa Odighizuwa.”

Fantasy Impact

Odighizuwa did not sign an extension with Dallas last offseason, but it appears the two sides will now agree to a new deal. He racked up 60 quarterback pressures last season, which was good for third in the NFL at his position.

Osa Odighizuwa selected No. 75 by Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have DT Osa Odighizuwa with the No. 75 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Impact

Dallas continues to load up on defensive players in this draft. The UCLA product is already the third player on the defensive side of the ball that Dallas has drafted. It was never in doubt as to what the Cowboys needed to work on this offseason, so it's encouraging that they're recognizing it.
