Moritz Boehringer, the first European to be chosen in the NFL draft, was waived by the Minnesota Vikings Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Boehringer was highly unlikely to be an on-the-field or fantasy contributor this season, as his inexperience currently trumps his impressive physical tools. That said, the Vikings probably hope Boehringer clears waivers so they can continue to develop him on their practice squad.
The Minnesota Vikings selected WR Moritz Boehringer in the sixth-round of the 2016 NFL Draft last weekend, making him the first European-born player to be drafted straight into the league.
Fantasy Impact
Moritz Boehringer played with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns of the German Football League in 2015 and finished the year with 59 receptions for 1,232 yards and 13 touchdowns through 16 games. The German pro has a chance to not only make Minnesota's roster but see playing time this year as the team is light at the wide receiver position.
