Mohamed Ibrahim waived by Vikings

Mohamed Ibrahim has been waived by the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Impact

Ibrahim just signed with the Vikings a few days ago, but the team is already letting him go ahead of the roster-cut deadline. He may get a chance on their practice squad, but no matter where he lands, he likely won't be fantasy relevant in 2024.

Mohamed Ibrahim signing deal with Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are signing RB Mohamed Ibrahim, who played in-state in college for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Fantasy Impact

Ibrahim has not caught on yet in the NFL, but he was a college star in Minnesota, rushing for 4,668 yards and 53 touchdowns across a six-year, five-season college career, both ranking No. 1 in program history. He will be competing for a practice squad spot against RBs Myles Gaskin and DeWayne McBride most likely as the Vikings already have a four-man rotation (Aaron Jones, Ty Chandler, Kene Nwangwu and FB C.J. Ham)

Mohamed Ibrahim struggles out of backfield Friday night against Giants

Mohamed Ibrahim rushed four times for nine rushing yards in the Lions' 21-16 win over the Giants Friday night.

Fantasy Impact

Ibrahim struggled to do much out of the backfield Friday night, averaging just 2.3 yards per carry Friday night. Combine that performance with the performances of Benny Snell Jr. and Devine Ozigbo, and the product out of Minnesota will need to fare much better over the next two weeks to carve out any sort of role behind co-starters Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery in a crowded Detroit backfield mix.

Mohamed Ibrahim signs with the Lions as an UDFA

The Detroit Lions signed RB Mohamed Ibrahim as an undrafted free agent.

Fantasy Impact

Ibrahim ran for a career-high 1,665 yards at Minnesota last season, the third 1,000 yard season of his collegiate career. He will look to compete for a depth role in the Lions backfield.
