Wilcox rejoins the Bengals after being on the PUP list since late July. He will compete for a backup role behind Irv Smith Jr at tight end. He played in 16 games last season, catching 17 passes for 139 yards and 1 TD.

Wilcox finished third on the team in targets on an afternoon where Joe Burrow attempted 52 passes. Wilcox has taken advantage of the injury to Hayden Hurst, having caught nine balls for 69 yards and a touchdown over his past two games. If Hurst misses Week 17, Wilcox will be a high-end TE3 against the Bills.

Wilcox was solid while filling in for an injured Hayden Hurst (calf). He caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow in the fourth quarter, the first TD of his NFL career. Wilcox can be considered as a low-end TE2 in Week 16 against the Patriots if Hurst isn't ready to play.

Wilcox started at tight end and figured to see heavy usage with Hayden Hurst a healthy scratch and Drew Sample (knee) out due to injury. Unfortunately, his night came to an end after suffering a left ankle injury. With the injury to Wilcox, Thaddeus Moss, Scotty Washington, and Justin Rigg should be in line for additional snaps the rest of the way in Friday’s contest.
