Max Unger
OL -
Week 11 Outlook
Availability
It was earlier reported that Max Unger might miss the start of the regular season, but it is now being said he will return during the preseason.
Fantasy Impact
Unger is the Saints' best offensive lineman, so having him off the field early on negatively impacts the likes of Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson. With him expected to be back before the start of the regular season, his surgery now no longer affects the stock of any of the Saints' players.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting New Orleans Saints center Max Unger (foot) has suffered a foot injury and is expected to miss an extended amount of time as a result.
Fantasy Impact
As a result of Unger's foot injury, he is expected to miss the start of the 2017 regular season and will likely open the campaign on the PUP list. If Unger does, in fact, miss extended time, his absence would be a tremendous void to their front five and their offense. The Saints could look to players lingering on the open market to fill the hole until Unger's return.
The New Orleans Saints and C Max Unger agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension that exceeds $21 million.
Fantasy Impact
Unger is entering his eighth season in the NFL and was the key component that the Seahawks sent to the Saints as a part of the Jim Graham trade last year. Unger was named New Orleans' offensive MVP in 2015 and will look to continue his success with the team in the upcoming campaign.
