Maurkice Pouncey
OL -
Week 11 Outlook
Availability
The Pittsburgh Steelers have activated C Maurkice Pouncey from the NFL's Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Fantasy Impact
Pouncey's return is a massive boost for an offense that just hasn't been able to get it done on the ground recently. The Steelers will also be getting RB James Conner back for Sunday night's matchup with the Bills, and he benefits significantly from having his Pro Bowl C in the lineup. Conner can be counted on as an RB2 in his return to action in Week 14.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed All-Pro center Maurkice Pouncey on the reserve/COVID list ahead of Wednesday's contest against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fantasy Impact
Pouncey is a massive loss for the Steelers. However, they will be taking on a severely depleted Ravens team so the impact will be somewhat minimized. His absence may still very well show up in the passing game, and will definitely be noticed in the running game.
Pouncey was given a three-game suspension by the league Friday for his role in Thursday's game-ending brawl between the Steelers and Browns.
Fantasy Impact
Pouncey will miss a Week 13 rematch with the Browns, along with trips to Cincinnati and Arizona, after he threw punches at kicks at Cleveland DE Myles Garrett moments after Garrett swung a helmet at the head of Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. Pouncey's absence is a major blow to a Pittsburgh offensive line that has allowed just 15 sacks through its first 10 games.
Pittsburgh Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey (leg) told ESPN that he underwent seven surgical procedures on his leg in 2015. Pouncey suffered a broken left fibula during the preseason and missed the entire year as a result of his ailment.
Fantasy Impact
Maurkice Pouncey is one of the premier centers in the NFL when he is healthy. Durability is a concern of late for the five-year veteran as he missed 31 games in the past three seasons(15 in 2013, 16 in 2015). Pouncey will likely regain his starting job this year if he plays well in training camp and the preseason.
