Mason Foster

The Redskins have informed veteran linebacker Mason Foster that he is being released just one day before the team reports to training camp.

Fantasy Impact

Foster started all 16 games in 2018, recording 131 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and four passes defensed. He will now look to find a new home with a team in need of a veteran inside linebacker.

Mason Foster recorded six solo tackles and three assisted tackles in Washington's Week 7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Impact

Foster, Washington's best IDP fantasy producer so far in 2018, picked up solid numbers against the Cowboys. But he's only the 39th-ranked LB to this point in the season.

The Redskins' defense has been a black hole for IDP players, as Foster (the 42nd-ranked linebacker to this point) is their highest-scoring defender. He has potential to rack up bigger numbers, and is worth keeping an eye on.

Foster has now recorded double-digit total tackles in each of the team’s first four games. He will continue to be one of the better LB options when the Panthers come to town in Week 6.

Foster struggled in pass coverage at times but when it comes to fantasy lineups, he’s been one of the better LB options early in the 2018 season. He will look to extend his double-digit tackle streak to three games against the Saints following the Week 4 bye.
