Manti Te'o
LB -
Week 12 Outlook
Availability
With A.J. Klein (groin) out again this contest versus the New York Jets, Manti Te'o stepped in and performed at a serviceable level with more playing time on the field. He recorded seven combined tackles helping to stifle the New York Jets in the win.
Fantasy Impact
Te'o has been a decent plug and play for IDP owners in the situation that Klein has not been able to make it a go due to injuries the second half of the season. At one point in the first half Te'o wasn't getting the time on the field to even consider worthy of a roster spot on fantasy teams. His fantasy owners or anyone thinking of streaming him in Week 16 will want to monitor Klein's situation, with Klein being healthy and able to play, it could dampen the idea that Te'o could be relevant for that contest versus Atlanta.
Manti Te'o recorded a team-high ten combined tackles in the loss versus Atlanta on Thursday night. Linebacker Craig Robertson was a close second with eight total tackles.
Fantasy Impact
We can't sugar coat Te'o's performance. His performance was more of a result of default production when fellow linebacker A.J. Klien went down early with a groin injury and did not return in the contest. Te'o did manage to put himself in the right position to make the tackles, but was clearly a step behind in a lot of cases. Te'o hadn't been receiving the snaps to warrant him as an IDP play up to this point, but could possibly see the chance again in Week 15 when the New York Jets come to New Orleans if Klien isn't over the groin injury.
In Week 7 vs Green Bay's run heavy attack, Manti Te'o recorded one tackle and one assist, bringing his season total to 18 total tackles.
Fantasy Impact
Any fantasy owner should have moved on weeks ago. Only an injury could possibly move him on from a pedestrian type season. The snap counts simply are not there.
LB Manti Te'o signed with the New Orlean Saints this past offseason and has earned a starting position with the first-team defense.
Fantasy Impact
Never living up to expectations in San Diego with the Chargers, Te'o will try to revive his career with the Saints as a two-down player. His fantasy impact will be limited, but as injuries mount through 2017, he may be worth keeping an eye on.
The New Orleans Saints and free agent linebacker Manti Te'o agreed to terms on a two-year deal Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact
Te'o played his entire four-year career with the Chargers before signing with New Orleans Tuesday. The former Notre Dame standout only played in three games last season due to a torn Achilles and is still recovering from the injury. Although he could miss spring workouts with his new club, he should be ready for the start of training camp in July, per reports.
