Reed has been bouncing from team-to-team in the recent part of his career, and now he finds himself in Las Vegas, hoping to carve out a role for himself on this weaker defense. He will start on the practice squad but may get the chance to earn a spot on the active roster if he plays well enough.

Reed inked a one-year deal with the Dolphins in the offseason after struggling with Pittsburgh in 2022. The former undrafted free agent will now look to join a team in need of linebacker depth prior to the start of the season.

According to Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos are trading LB Malik Reed to the Pittsburgh Steelers, along with a seventh-rounder, in exchange for a sixth-rounder.

Fantasy Impact

Reed has 25 QB hits in his last two seasons along with 13 sacks. In a Pittsburgh defense that largely runs through the action done with the front seven, Reed adds depth to what they can do. The Steelers, going on average as the DST14, are likely to be a streamable defense depending on matchups this season with the ability to accumulate sacks and turnovers.
