Week 12 Outlook
Availability
The Miami Dolphins have signed CB Mackensie Alexander.
Fantasy Impact
Alexander has started 25 of a possible 84 games and amassed 201 tackles, 32 passes defended, 11 tackles for loss, and three interceptions throughout his six years in the NFL. The former Clemson Tiger spent his first four seasons with the Vikings before joining the Bears in 2020 and returning to Minnesota in 2021. Alexander adds depth to the Dolphins' CB room that desperately needed it after losing Trill Williams (ACL) for the season.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Mackensie Alexander has left training camp as the Okeechobee County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office searches for his father, Jean Odney Alexandre, who disappeared Monday while on a berry-picking trip, authorities say. A search is underway.
Fantasy Impact
Alexander was a second-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2016. After four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Alexander, 26, signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Bengals during the offseason. Alexander was expected to step in and start at corner after Trae Waynes (pec) underwent surgery and was out indefinitely.
Mackensie Alexander finished Monday’s 23-10 loss to the Packers with 11 tackles (nine solo).
Fantasy Impact
Alexander isn’t worth rostering in most leagues as he only has 33 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and one interception through Week 16.
Mackensie Alexander completed Sunday's win over the Lions with four total tackles, three being solo efforts, and one sack.
Fantasy Impact
Through Week 9, Alexander now boasts a stat line of 23 total tackles, 19 being solo and three sacks. He's been taking advantage of extra playing time because of other injuries to the Vikings secondary. In super deep leagues, he's worth considering on fantasy rosters, but one would have to assume this Vikings defence will be back to full strength soon.
Mackensie Alexander finished Sundays win over the Arizona Cardinals with five total tackles, and his second sack for the season.
Fantasy Impact
With all of the injuries to the Vikings secondary Alexander should see an increase in playing time. He is worth an add in deep IDP leagues.
