Fantasy Impact
Patrick has played in 96 games since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He spent the past two seasons with the Bears and should add some versatility to the offensive line for the Saints.
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus has announced that starting C Lucas Patrick suffered a right-hand injury early in training camp and as of now, there is no timetable for his return, per NFL Insider Field Yates of ESPN.
Fantasy Impact
Multiple reports have confirmed that Patrick has a broken right thumb and is expected to require surgery. The offensive line was already a huge concern for Chicago, but center was believed to be one of their more stable positions after they locked up the former Green Bay Packer in free agency to a two-year, $8M deal. Luckily, the Bears are hopeful with the injury happening early on in camp, Patrick will be ready to suit up for their Week 1 home opener against the San Francisco 49ers.
