The Philadelphia Eagles have released defensive back Leodis McKelvin.
Fantasy Impact
The Eagles released McKelvin after one year with the club. In 13 games, he accumulated 43 total tackles, two interceptions and 15 pass deflections. With McKelvin's release, the Eagles saved $3.2 million in cap space.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed CB Leodis McKelvin to a two-year deal worth "just over" $6 million according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact
It didn't take long for Leodis McKelvin to find a job as the Eagles signed the veteran corner on Tuesday. McKelvin is the latest transaction in a flurry of moves made by the re-building Philadelphia organization. McKelvin was likely brought in to replace the recently traded Byron Maxwell.
The Buffalo Bills are expected to release Leodis McKelvin according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Fantasy Impact
Leodis McKelvin has been a solid corner throughout his NFL career and will garner interest from numerous defensive back-needy teams during the free agency period.
Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin will be activated from the reserve/non-football injury list this week, coach Rex Ryan said Monday. He was placed on that list on Sept. 4 after suffering a setback in his recovery from a broken ankle. Ryan said McKelvin could be moved to safety.
Fantasy Impact
With Ronald Darby having an outstanding rookie season at corner opposite Stephon Gilmore, a move to safety would be the best use of McKelvin, especially considering the Bills' struggles there after losing Aaron Williams to a neck injury and Corey Graham (knee) banged up as well.
Bills coach Rex Ryan said Sunday that he doesn't expect Leodis McKelvin, who suffered a setback in his recovery from a broken ankle, to start the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which would sideline him for the first six games.
Fantasy Impact
Probably just as well for him, as the Bills face Indianapolis, New England, Miami and the New York Giants in the first four weeks. Rookie Ronald Darby has been starting in McKelvin's place.
