The Miami Dolphins have signed inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons to a two-year, $12 million contract with $11 million in guaranteed money.
Fantasy Impact
The Dolphins had to address their porous run defense that gave up too many rushing yards last year. The Timmons signing helps address that weakness. Timmons can play every down and played 91 percent of the snaps last year for the Steelers.
Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review speculates that this could be linebacker Lawrence Timmons' last year with the Steelers.
Fantasy Impact
Kaboly cites Timmons' age (30) and the fact that he is in the final year of his current contract. As Mike Tomlin's first ever pick with the Steelers ten years ago, Timmons could be a soft spot for the head coach. However, his play fell off precipitously in 2015 - he finished as Pro Football Focus' fifth-worst inside linebacker - and it is more likely than not that Timmons is playing elsewhere next year.
