Week 11 Outlook
Availability
LaRon Landry has been suspended for four games without pay for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He will be eligible to return to the team October 27.
Fantasy Impact
While Landry hasn't been a terribly consistent player, his loss definitely raises concern within the Colts defense. Landry was not a viable IDP option prior to this news but his loss does downgrade the Colts defense a bit. Given that the Colt's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens and their sixth ranked offense next week, you probably shouldn't have been using them even before this news broke.
Head coach Chuck Pagano said Landry will get the start in Saturday's game against the Giants. Pagano's main goal is to work on communication within the starting secondary. He will likely only play one or two defensive drives before being shut down.
Fantasy Impact
This is good news for a Colts defense that will look to veteran players like Landry in the absence of Robert Mathis. Even with a fully healthy Landry, the Colts' D is not draft worthy. There may be some value during the season, however, if used as a streaming option based on the matchup.
LaRon Landry practiced with the first team defense for the first time this training camp on Monday. He appeared to be back to form, constantly moving in the secondary and occasionally dropping in on the front seven.
Fantasy Impact
The Colts lost long time S Antoine Bethea to free agency this offseason and will need consistent play from Landry to fill that void. Landry is an impressive physical specimen. Seeing him moving well at practice and taking first team reps is a good sign for what could be a pretty good Colts defensive unit.
