Fantasy Impact
It remains to be seen which team will ultimately land Collins, but he's expected to have plenty of suitors given what feels like a constant need for offensive line reinforcements. The 30-year-old tore his ACL and MCL last season and was released from the Bengals' PUP list earlier this month.
According to Field Yates of ESPN, OT La'el Collins is being released by the Cincinnati Bengals; he was on their physically unable to perform list.
Fantasy Impact
Collins' time in Cincinnati was a disaster. After three straight seasons of 70-plus-point offensive grades from PFF, including an 86.4 season in 2019 and two 89-point run-blocking seasons in 2019 and 2021, Collins had a grade of 57.9 in 2022. Collins started 15 games for the Bengals and was released after just one season. Given his history, he will likely find another chance, but injuries seem to be hampering his performance.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, OT La'el Collins is being placed on injured reserve by the Cincinnati Bengals, ending his season.
Fantasy Impact
Collins suffered a torn ACL and MCL, ending his season and putting his availability next year in question. Collins was an offseason acquisition for the Bengals and started for the team at tackle. OT Hakeem Adeniji could be in line to start for the Bengals down the road.
La'el Collins underwent an MRI on Sunday and it revealed he tore his ACL and MCL.
Fantasy Impact
Collins passed the initial ACL on field exam on Saturday before undergoing a further MRI on Sunday. His recovery is expected to be seven months which should allow him to be fully healthy for next season. In the meantime, this is a blow to the Bengals offensive line for the rest of this season.
