Fantasy Impact
Alonso was with the Saints in training camp but ultimately decided to end his career on his terms. Free agent LB Kiko Alonso worked out for the Saints Thursday morning and is expected to sign with the team.
Fantasy Impact
Alonso last played in 2019 for the Saints as well. Rapoport reported that he has stayed in shape and New Orleans has decided to give him a shot given his familiarity.
Saints' LB Kiko Alonso has been cleared to return from the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list after recovering from a torn ACL suffered last postseason.
Fantasy Impact
Alonso accounted for 31 tackles and a pass deflection in 2019, playing a pivotal role as a newcomer to the Saints defense after being traded from the Dolphins. New Orleans will stand to benefit from Alonso's return, as they have allowed 25 total PPG compared to just 21.3 PPG in 2019.
The Dolphins and the Saints have agreed to a trade that will ship linebacker Kiko Alonso to New Orleans. The exact terms of the trade are not yet known.
Fantasy Impact
Kiko Alonso is coming off his best year, and has only missed two games out of 48 with the Dolphins. The Saints are clearly in win-now mode with Drew Brees entering the twilight of his career.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald is reporting that LB Kiko Alonso is a potential roster cut this season.
Fantasy Impact
Alonso is an expensive and often injured veteran on a rebuilding team. It would not be surprising if he ends up being cut.
