The Packers have released WR Kevin Dorsey.

Fantasy Impact

The former 7th round pick had a favorable offensive situation along with good size but never got on the field. Once an outside contender for the Packers #4 WR slot, that job will most likely now come down to fan favorites Jeff Janis or Jared Abbrederis, pending any additions in the draft.

WR Kevin Dorsey was promoted to the Packers active roster from the practice squad this week. Bill Huber reports that Dorsey was promoted because of merit and not an injury. The Packers recently released Ryan Taylor, which made room for Dorsey.

Fantasy Impact

Though this move has no immediate fantasy impact, Dorsey had a nice training camp and preseason. His biggest impact was on special teams, but as a WR on an explosive Packers offensive his name bears keeping in mind should the injury bug strike this deep unit. The Packers coaching staff believes in Dorsey's potential, but a lack of opportunity will limit his fantasy prospects for the foreseeable future.
