Kendall Blanton was claimed by the Commanders off waivers from the Rams Monday.

Fantasy Impact

On the same day the Commanders activated Logan Thomas from the PUP list, they claimed Blanton to bolster the TE position. Blanton did not see much playing time in 2021 until Tyler Higbee was injured which forced Blanton into action. The 26-year-old could be worth a look in the late rounds considering Logan Thomas’ injury history.

Fantasy Impact

Blanton is going undrafted currently in fantasy leagues as the Rams are expected to have Tyler Higbee back for the start of the season. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for depth options at TE absent extremely deep tight-end-premium leagues.

As soon as Tyler Higbee was forced to leave the game early, Blanton saw himself put into a fairly big role in the Rams passing game, especially with Cam Akers and Van Jefferson also going in-and-out of the game. Blanton took a couple dump off passes for big yardage including a 20-yard reception.
