However, The Florida Times-Union also notes that Beachum won't be ready for the start of training camp. “As far as an exact time frame [for a debut], I don’t know as of yet," said Beachum. With former first-round pick Luke Joeckel showing no signs of improving, the team is counting on Beachum to help improve their offensive line in order to better protect franchise quarterback Blake Bortles. His healthy return to the field could help Bortles sustain his success from last year while also helping improve the run game for Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon.
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed OL Kelvin Beachum according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
Fantasy Impact
The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to break the bank this offseason, the latest, adding protection for break-out star, Blake Bortles. The Jaguars added Kelvin Beachum to reportedly compete with former no. 2 overall pick from the 2013 draft Luke Joeckel, whom team brass said hasn't yet reached his true potential and needs to be pushed according to NFL media. Beachum could move to another position on the front-five if he doesn't beat out Joeckel for his spot on the depth chart.
