Kellen Moore to miss an extended amount of time with an ankle injury

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Dallas Cowboys QB Kellen Moore (ankle) will undergo surgery to repair his broken ankle on Wednesday and is expected to miss three-to-four months of football activities.

Fantasy Impact

In the wake of Kellen Moore's ankle injury that will sideline him for the next three-to-four months, the Dallas Cowboy are in need of a backup quarterback. The Cowboys have played with fire in the past rolling with unproven reserves behind Tony Romo and had it backfire tremendously, especially in 2015. Fantasy Impact

Kellen Moore is not relevant for fantasy purposes. If Tony Romo does get hurt, then the backup QB is somewhat relevant but should not be your starter. Keep an eye out to see who the Cowboys sign in Moores place.

Kellen Moore expected to be backup to Tony Romo in 2016

Per NBC sports, the Dallas Cowboys are expecting veteran backup Kellen Moore to slide in behind Tony Romo on the depth chart this season. Despite drafting Dak Prescott in the fourth round, it appears that the Cowboys know that it may take some time for him to develop into a viable NFL quarterback option.

Fantasy Impact

Kellen Moore had highs and lows when he played last year with the Cowboys. Filling in for an injured Tony Romo, he made enough plays to solidify himself a roster spot heading into 2016. Moore is still far from a fantasy asset even if Romo was to experience another injury setback. Dak Prescott could put some heat on him for the number two spot with a solid camp performance.
