Week 16 Outlook
Availability
The Chicago Bears have signed tight end Justin Perillo from their practice squad on Friday.
Fantasy Impact
Perillo, who spent two and a half seasons in Green Bay, was signed to Chicago's active roster from their practice squad Friday. In 19 career games, he's only accumulated 15 receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown. He is primarily used as a blocking tight end when he is in a game.
Justin Perillo had a career day against the Colts, catching both of his targets for 18 yards.
Fantasy Impact
There's not much to say about Perillo's outing against Indianapolis, other than he was there when quarterback Aaron Rodgers needed him. While fellow tight end Richard Rodgers had a relatively productive fantasy day, it's been shown time and again that this offense just isn't geared toward moving the ball with its tight ends, leaving Perillo as a waiver wire resident until future notice.
Justin Perillo caught his only target Sunday afternoon for a four-yard gain.
Fantasy Impact
With first-string tight end Richard Rodgers just an ancillary component in Green Bay's offense, Perillo seems to be no more than an afterthought. Unfortunately, there aren't any fantasy points awarded for blocking and, as such, Perillo is best left on the waiver wire.
Perillo caught his only target for 13 yards on Sunday afternoon.
Fantasy Impact
Undrafted prospect Justin Perillo probably won't turn into a worthwhile fantasy asset anytime soon, as Green Bay hasn't involved with their tight ends significantly in the passing game and he sits behind veterans Jared Cook and Richard Rodgers at the moment. If Cook's injury lingers he could receive a few more looks, but, nevertheless, Perillo isn't worth rostering in any fantasy format.
Justin Perillo hauled in 5-of-6 targets for 58 yards and a score.
Fantasy Impact
Perillo was given his most run in a regular season game in his young career, and he made the most of it. A practice squad holdover from last year, Perillo is a strong blocking tight-end with good hands and a surprising amount of mobility. He is not the athletic specimen that was Jermichael Finley but he showed a better ability to get open down the field than Richard Rodgers has showed all season. It is too early to tell if Perillo's role will continue to grow, but he sure made a case for an uptick in playing time. Keep Perillo on your watch list.
