Week 9 Outlook
Availability
Justin Brown is the primary backup to Antonio Brown. Based on this, it would appear that as of the issuing of this initial depth chart Justin Brown is currently the team’s WR4.
Fantasy Impact
Brown is making the most of his chances to make the final 53 man roster. His primary back ups are Heyward-Bey and Bryant. The 6 foot 3 inch 209 pounder out of Oklahoma will make for an enticing target in the red zone. Brown is currently not being drafted in redraft leagues. That could change as the preseason moves on should Roethlisberger look his way in the red zone.
Justin Brown is being praised as one of the most improved players by several veterans on the team including backup QB Bruce Gradkowski. The QB was quoted "He’s really stepped it up. He’s learned a lot. He’s really playing confident. He’s a big, physical receiver, and he’s just doing the right things and making the plays. He’s doing well." Brown will be competing for the 5th roster spot behind Antonio Brown, free agent Lance Moore, Markus Wheaton and 2014 fourth-rounder Martavis Bryant. Justin was on the practice squad last year.
Fantasy Impact
Justin Brown brings some intrigue for fantasy leagues that are very deep or as an injury replacement later on in the year. Brown isn't a lock to make the 53 man roster this summer, however is much more comfortable in the system which plays in his favor for the 5th spot. This will be a good name to remember if wide receiver's start to go down with injury in Pittsburgh.
