Fantasy Impact
Nico Collins made his return to the lineup on Monday night, so Metchie wasn't able to follow up on the nice performance that he had in Week 10. He caught just three passes on the night, and C.J. Stroud wasn't looking his way all that much. He will remain off of the fantasy radar unless someone ahead of him on the depth chart goes down.
John Metchie III caught five of his six targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in a 26-23 loss to the Lions in Week 10.

Metchie turned in the best game of his young career as he set career-highs in receiving yards and catches while notching his first career touchdown. The veteran may remain involved in the Houston offense moving forward, although the looming return of Nico Collins (hamstring) will put a damper on Metchie's outlook. He will take on the Cowboys in Week 11's Monday night game.
John Metchie III was unable to catch any of his three targets in a 21-13 loss to the Jets in Week 9's Thursday night game.

Metchie was expected to be a larger contributor following the season-ending knee injury suffered by Stefon Diggs last week but instead he was held without a catch. On the season, Metchie has just three catches for 44 yards in two games. With Nico Collins (hamstring) expected to return to action in Week 10 against the Lions, Metchie will return to a reserve role.

Metchie III will remain sidelined for the season opener and moving forward will have a difficult time receiving significant target share as part of a wide receiver room led by Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell this season.

It remains unclear if Houston is willing to trade Metchie who is down the depth chart in a deep Texans wide receiver room. He totaled 100 yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions throughout the preseason.
