Patriots QB Joe Milton III is officially inactive for a Week 3 matchup with the Jets.

Milton will once again serve as a healthy scratch and operate as the emergency third quarterback. Drake Maye will continue to serve as the backup to Jacoby Brissett.

Joe Milton III completed 5-of-17 pass attempts for 78 yards in the Patriots’ 20-10 loss to the Commanders.

Milton added 23 rushing yards on three attempts. Despite the rough performance Sunday, the rookie quarterback is expected to land the QB3 job on the Patriots’ roster in 2024.

Milton also added nine rushing yards on three attempts. The rookie quarterback remains in a competition with Bailey Zappe for the third QB job. Both Zappe and Milton should see plenty of snaps in the Patriots’ third preseason game.

It is unlikely to be a concern this early in camp. Milton figures to be fighting for a roster spot with the Patriots throughout the rest of camp.
