The Patriots have traded QB Joe Milton III and a seventh-round draft pick to Dallas in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.

The 25-year-old quarterback will open the season as the backup to Dak Prescott and will provide the Cowboys will a solid option should Prescott miss any time during the season.

In what isn't considered a super deep quarterback class in the upcoming draft, it could lead to more interest in a trade for Milton. He was able to show out in the season finale against the Bills for 241 yards passing and two total touchdowns. Milton is not considered to be on the trade block, but the Patriots are seemingly considering it if an offer comes their way.
